In Nigeria today, amidst the economic downturn, fear grips our imagination, our thoughts and behaviour. Whether it is fear of failure, fear of losing everything, insecurity, fear of embarrassment or anxiety about our lives and the future, fear can be destructive and can paralyse us emotionally. But the Bible tells us; “Perfect love casts out all fear”. It also tells us that “God is love and whosoever abides in love, abides in God and God abides in him” (1 John 4:16). As we draw closer to God and dwell in Him, we can be confident that his love for us and in us will deliver us from all our fears. Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
